COVID-19 At Home Testing 😷

As a further measure to keep ISY students safe we have acquired a substantial number of COVID test kits, and are continuing to acquire more. Subject to availability we should have enough kits for every student and staff member to test themselves twice a week for the rest of the 2021-2022 school year.

Every Monday starting February 7, 2022, two test kits will be sent home with every student each week. We ask that students be tested every Wednesday and Sunday evening and that you inform the ISY clinic (clinic@isyedu.org) if your child’s test result is positive. If a student is absent on Monday they will be able to get their kits directly from the clinic when they return.

Each kit has instructions on how to perform the test but here is a video from the ISY Clinic showing you how to test.

Again, if your child tests positive please inform the ISY clinic (clinic@isyedu.org) and keep your child at home.

Here is ISY’s ‘Can my child come to school’ graphic.

If a student has a suspected case of Covid-19, the other students and parents in that person’s class will be informed and they should follow ISY’s Health and Safety instructions.

Thanks in advance to all the members of our community for helping to keep ISY a safe environment to come to school.

Add After School Activity (ASA) in PowerSchool

  1. All staff are required to offer an ASA in person or virtually.
  2. Enter your After School Activity into PS directly.
  3. You can watch the video below for those directions.
  4. When you are entering your ASA, please put your exact location on campus or your Zoom link in the “Location” field.
  5. The indoor gym will be available for some non-contact sports but outdoor venues are preferred. Masks must be worn at all times.
  6. For on-campus activities, there is a maximum of 20 students per ASA.
  7. ASAs will take place on Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday each week.
  8. ASA times are as follows:
    • ES: 2:30-3:15pm
    • MS/HS: 2:45-3:30
    • A later session can be added from 3:30-4:15pm as needed (in order to allow students in Service Learning programs to be involved in a sports ASA, for example).
  9. Only one teacher per ASA.  If you need additional help, we can assign a teaching assistant to help with your activity.
  10. Please ensure that your ASA falls under one of the following: Arts, Sports, STEM, or Service Learning.
  11. If you have a Service Learning (SL) activity that has been running all year, we can copy over your information from Session 1 AND add your current students to your roster.  Please send an email if you would like us to add your SL activity.  Just provide us with the day/time/location.
  12. Make sure you do not schedule your ASA on a day when you normally have staff or grade level meetings after school.
